Have been looking for ages for something that properly defines my curls, and this is definitely it!! Unparalleled usage. Would say though, that it needs an oil or something to scrunch out the crunch. I found that the best method for me was to put the custard on, diffuse it on cold until some bits are starting to dry and then add in some oil – Righteous Roots or Moroccan Oil work well. Nothing too heavy as the custard is already doing a lot of work.

Used for a twist out, it provided good definition though I needed extra moisture from a cream so treat like a gel. Found that my preferred use is as a grooming cream when doing buns etc. I just use a small quantity for polished styles
SIMPLY THE BEST!
My second best product from Obia after their deep conditioner of course. I use it for wash n go, putting my hair in sleek bun and sometimes twist out if I’m not feeling lazy. It defines my 4b curls and sleeks my hair. Two-in-one gel for sure! For me personally, it is the best gel for coarse hair. Quiet softening and moisturizing too, no hardness. In fact I can easily comb it out the next day and have my hair in another hairstyle that doesn’t need a gel.

When I first used this product it didn’t quiet turn out perfect like all these bloggers I have seen using it with great result and praising how good the product is. I realised what I did wrong in the first place which was applying the custard on dry hair. However, on wash & go and twist outs it’s fantastic for my 4b hair. Curls defined , shinyand soft. When I want to slick my hair and edges, I make sure I use the hydration spray first or I sometimes prep with the moisture cream and then apply the custard. Bwoy, my hair gets laid to the gods without hard crunchy feel.

Obia Naturals Curl Enhancing Custard worked well with the twist whip butter to give me moisturised, shiny twists. However, the twist out turned into a frizzy mess after about 3 hours of being out (There was no humidity that day). It smoothed down my daughters hair (who has spiral curls) a treat and her hair looked smooth but wavy. I will use it on my daughters hair but I will not use it on my hair (***** tight spirals) again.
