Lupita drops knowledge on Vogue over hairstyle inspiration

She may be reserved, but that doesn't mean Lupita Nyong’o won't come for you when you get out of line.

The actress called out Vogue magazine for insisting that her MET Gala hairstyle was inspired by Aubrey Heprun.

While on the red carpet, the actress told Vogue correspondent Andre Leon Talley that she got her inspiration from African sculptural hair dos as well of singer Nina Simone.

However, Vogue, a publication that is increasingly becoming known for penning cultural misappropriation articles, had their own take on Lupita’s hairstyle

They published an article on their website with the headline ‘Is Lupita Nyong’o the new Audrey Hepburn?’

Setting the record straight, Lupita took to Instagram and posted a side-by-side photo that showed the traditional African hairstyle.

“Hair Inspiration. Check,” she clapped back, mentioning @vernonfrancois @voguemagazine #metball2016 in the caption.
