Hot Head Deep Conditioning Thermal Heat Cap
More from: Hot Head
Reversible and cordless by design, you can move about freely and get on with other things while deep conditioning your hair. You can also use this cap when your colouring hair to allow the dye to penetrate the cuticles and get the best colour results.
How does it work?
Hair cuticle is typically closed and laying flat like fish scales. Hot Head Cap, which is thermal and made from Terrycloth, is filled with renewable flaxseeds that generates heat when warmed up in the microwave. The gently heat produced from the Cap will lift your hair cuticles, allowing the treatment to penetrate deep down, leaving your hair well-conditioned and nourished from inside out.
Measurements
Starting circumference is around 21 inches. Max circumference when fully stretched is 34 inches. If you would like Hot Head in XL or any other print we do not stock, you can email us and place a custom order.
For head size 22 inches and beyond, very thick hair and/or dreadlocks, we recommend Pydana Deep Conditioning Thermal Heat Caps to avoid stretching the elastic by using a cap too small for your head/hair.

Heat in the microwave for 30-45 seconds on each side, depending on microwave wattage. Do not exceed a combined total of 3 minutes heating time from start to finish of conditioning your hair. The cap will produce 20-30 minutes of gentle moist heat to deep condition your hair. For longevity of your cap, please also follow very important instructions that comes with it.
To avoid ruining your cap, always use a plastic cap on top of your hair before putting on Hot Head.
Tip: Many users have noted the print side of the cap is the warmest. Watch this video by YouTube vlogger, Bianca Renee, where she demonstrates the best way to heat and use the cap.
Cleaning and maintenance
Use warm water and a mild detergent to wipe clean. Any unsightly fluff or lint on the Cap can be removed using a lint roller.
The instruction that comes with the cap is for 1000 watts microwave, but mine is below this watts. How many minutes should I use to heat the cap?
For microwaves below 850 watts, heat each side for 1 minute and ensure the total combined heating of both sides doesn't exceed 3 minutes. For example, heat the print side for 1 minute, turn the cap inside out and heat the plain colour side for 1 minute and then turn the cap inside out again and heat the print side for another 1 minute. Put on the cap with print side resting on your head. This side, according to many, provides the warmest heat. Please make sure a clingfilm or a disposable shower cap is already on your head prior to heating the cap.
What would happen if I heat the cap longer than recommended time?
The flaxseeds would become overheated and toasted, thus sparking up and setting the cap on fire. This happened to our Co-Founder when she was testing the cap for performance prior to stocking it. Please do not overheat at any given session. The elastic would also lose it firmness, causing your cap to become saggy. Overheating the cap can also result in burnt holes. As a rule of thumb, the higher the microwave watt (850 watts and above), the less heat up time is required.

Good product and easy to use
Really good for deep conditioning my natural hair and laying my frontals flat ! Really easy to use

So far so good
I’ve only used the cap once and it does get warm which is very good for deep conditioning. But after 15 mins you have to warm it again.

You get what you pay for!
I had tried a cheaper version of this type of item, and it had sprung a ‘leak’ on first use. I’ve only used the Hothead one 3 times, but what a difference! It’s extremely well-made and comfortable to use.

Very pleased with cap
I did quite a lot of research before deciding on the Ho Head cap and I’m so pleased I bought it. The extra stitching keeps the seeds in place for an even heat and it feels very comfortable to wear. A good quality product.
